Amherst man facing child pornography charges


Recently, Galen Andrew Wright, an Amherst resident was charged with 10 counts of child pornography. The task force that the investigator is involved in is one of several throughout the country. is currently in custody because investigators were able to locate where the crime was being committed through various ways of technology. 

Missing 8 foot python in Roanoke


An eight foot python has escaped from a man's possession and is loose throughout the city. The man believes that the python got away by a gap under the cage door. The snake has still yet to be found but is keeping animal control on their toes.


Local schools may have to pay for Congress' actions


The local schools of the Roanoke area have undergone large budget cuts. Over the past four years, 15 million dollars in federal funding went down the drain. Leaders within the school are holding meetings in order to include the community in the situation hoping to change the outcome.
